French Vegetarian Bed and Breakfast helps make Fête a success!

November 6, 2009

For the first time a vegetarian option was provided at a fête in the beautiful Limousin market town of Felletin. Andrea, chef at 3 Place des Arbres, created a vegetarian tartiflette, which allowed both vegetarians and muslems the opportunity to come eat and party the night away!

10% of the dishes served were vegetarian (it is estimated that only 2% of the French population is vegetarian) and this did not include Bruce and Andrea, the owners of the vegetarian guest house.

“I was really pleased with the number of vegetarian tartiflettes we served,” Andrea said. “It just goes to show that there is a market in France for good vegetarian food. I think it surprised the other organisers of the Fête, not least because the people requesting the vegetarian option were French!”

The recipe for the tartiflette is available here.

3 Place des Arbres is a chambres d’hotes located in La Creuse, a beautiful, and undiscovered, part of France. It serves vegetarian and vegan meals, and welcomes all vegetarians, vegans and veg-curious people!
